Bridges® Dementia Education Seminar with Experts from McLean Hospital

Coping as a Caregiver of Someone with Dementia
Tuesday, October 28 | 7 p.m.

Join us for a complimentary, expert-led education session designed for spouses and adult children caring for loved ones with dementia. Dr. Marie Clouqueur and Dr. Elizabeth Goldstein from McLean Hospital will share insights on caregiver challenges and offer practical strategies to help families cope with the demands of caregiving.

The educational seminar will:

  • Identify the most common and challenging symptoms of dementia as it progresses
  • Identify common challenges for both spouses and adult children
  • Offer strategies to manage feelings of loss, exhaustion, and family tension
  • Provide approaches to help restore connection, confidence, and competence

Marie Clouqueur, LICSW, is a clinical social worker and the director of the GUIDE Program and Caregiver Services in the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry at McLean Hospital. Her clinical work and research focus on supporting people with dementia and improving caregiver resilience. With the goal of contributing to a society that integrates people living with dementia, Marie regularly delivers education and training about dementia to a wide range of audiences. Prior to her current role, she worked in community mental health, residential, and inpatient settings.

ELIZABETH GOLDSTEIN, LICSW

Lead Social Worker, Cognitive Neuropsychiatry Unit,

McLean Hospital

Liz Goldstein, LICSW, is a clinical social worker with over 10 years of experience working with older adults and their families. Liz graduated from the Boston College School of Social Work with a focus in geriatrics. Liz works primarily with older adults with Dementia during their acute hospital stays, and the focus of her work is in educating and supporting the families/responsible parties through the hospital course and planning for safe and sustainable discharges back to the community.
